Bio

CAO has already made a name for himself with visually audacious music videos for Les Louanges, Karkwa, Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Marie-Pierre Arthur, and Émile Bilodeau, among others. After graduating from UQÀM’s film program in 2019, CAO directed Be Yourself (presented at the RVCQ) and the collective project Le temps d’un spleen, which was selected for the Mecal festival in Barcelona. Since 2025, he’s also directed the portrait series Les 21 for the Francouvertes. As a director, he finds the sweet spot between chaos and precision, always keeping human complexity at the center of his stories. But CAO is not only a director; he’s the ultimate multi-hyphenate. He’s an author-composer-performer for the band Blesse and an accomplished drummer who has toured with the likes of Thierry Larose, Zen Bamboo, and Le Roy, la Rose et le Lou(p). He’s played on Polaris-nominated albums and at major festivals (including Les Francos de Montréal, FME, and Printemps de Bourges). Yup, CAO is a multidisciplinary multitalent, perfect for our multiformat, multiperspective times.
