Marie-Julie started her filmmaking career on La Course Destination Monde before co-directing the seminal collective film Cosmos - a gorgeous tapestry of six short stories weaving through Montreal at night, as seen through the eyes of an immigrant taxi driver - which was shortlisted for The Oscars (woot!). Marie-Julie’s work is deeply committed and undeniably cinematic, whether it's film, television, or advertising. In 2015, Denis Villeneuve hand-picked her to direct the second unit for Arrival. Her latest film, Comme une vague (Big Giant Wave) has been sweeping the international awards circuit and she is currently working on two features: Cut Print Thank You Bye, an homage to the late Jean-Marc Vallée (Item7), and Nous qui rêvons: ode au vivant (PVP Media), a cinematic essay starring only…animals (with magnificent music from the OSM conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin). A nonstop multidisciplinary force, Marie-Julie is also in development on two more feature films: Un oeil sur toi with Micheline Lanctôt (Stopfilms/Item7) and Je ne suis pas seule dans ma tête (Item7).
